Seda Empowerment

To support women in crisis by equipping them with education and meaningful income opportunities that foster self-sufficiency, confidence and long-term stability.

Empowering Woman to Rebuild and Thrive

Our goal is to provide women and girls in Afghanistan with the possibility of safe online education and economic empowerment, thus empowering their voice and potential regardless of the physical constraints that exist. We strive to create a world where no obstacle is allowed to hold back the intellectual and independent spirit of women, where every Afghan girl is free to seek her education and connect from her home.

Who We Are

We are a group of people who care deeply about women who have lost access to their basic human rights. Our work is simple and focused. We support women in Afghanistan through education and through creating stable income opportunities that allow them to stand on their own. Since 2021, life for women in Afghanistan has changed in ways that are hard to describe. Schools closed to them. Jobs disappeared. Movement became restricted. Their voices were pushed out of public life. They became the most vulnerable group in the country. Our founder, Marzia Azimi, was one of the few who managed to leave Afghanistan. Leaving did not erase the reality of what her life would have been if she had stayed. That awareness stayed with her. It became the reason she started this organization and the reason she continues this work every day. We are a small team, but we are committed. We believe that even small efforts can create real change when they are consistent and honest. We believe that every woman deserves a chance to learn, to earn, and to live with dignity.

Our Values

  • Empowerment: We believe in the potential of women and girls and seek to create opportunities that build confidence, independence, and long-term stability.
  • Compassion: We approach women in crisis without judgment and with dignity, empathy, and respect.
  • Responsive and Responsible Action: We strive to respond to needs efficiently and thoughtfully while maintaining appropriate oversight, accountability, and responsible use of our resources.
  • Opportunity: We believe access to education and meaningful income opportunities can create pathways toward greater independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Collective Impact: We believe meaningful change is strengthened through collaboration. We bring together diverse talents, experiences, networks, voices, and perspectives to advance our mission and create lasting impact.

Marzia’s Story

Born and raised in Herat, Afghanistan, Marzia Azimi founded Seda Empowerment with a deeply personal understanding of the barriers women face when access to education and financial independence is limited. Her own journey brought her to the United States, where she pursued higher education and built a new life. Today, she is turning those opportunities into a mission: helping women in Herat build confidence, independence, and a future of their own.

Support Our Mission

If you choose to support us, you become part of that change. You help us reach women who have been forgotten. You help us open doors that have been closed to them. You help us give them a chance to rebuild their lives. This is who we are. And we welcome anyone who wants to stand with us.
